acne, endometriosis and life long eczema
My client came to me with one goal; to fix her skin. What happened was so much more.
Aimee, 29yo working mum, always had ‘bad skin’
The GP had already confirmed a diagnosis of endometriosis and as a result of this Aimee was experiencing a range of uncomfortable symptoms including skin issues (acne and eczema), low energy, mood swings and PMS, depression, heavy and painful periods, ongoing ear issues, poor sleep and anxiety.
In our initial conversation it was clear Aimee felt like she really had tried everything to ‘fix’ her body and skin and was constantly worried she was doing things that were making it worse. She was scared of being reliant on topical steroids for her eczema but at the same time was scared of experiencing topical steroid withdrawal.
The only thing that had worked for her acne was the birth control pill which she really didn’t want to go back on. She had exhausted all medications offered to her for her endometriosis, at one point taking 20 different medications per day, and felt like she had now exhausted all treatments for her skin too.
Aimee signed up to True Skin Transformation, gained access to True Skin Method our online learning hub, she had her wedding booked in 12 months time so motivation to get her feeling calm and confident in her skin by then was on!
What did we do?
We adjusted Aimee’s diet to include more fibre, antioxidants, protein and healthy fats, and lowered her sugar and white starchy carbohydrate intake. By focusing on building foods in first Aimee noticed her cravings for sweet things naturally declined
My SKIN blood test identified a number of nutrient deficiencies, a very tired immune system, some issues around histamine, low iron and poor liver clearance.
As a new mum working full time I also suspected stress was playing a significant role in Aimee’s symptoms and share with her some tools to help regulate her nervous system.
We also created a personalised supplements programme as opposed to the ‘try it and see’ approach Aimee had been taking with her supplements. I also advised her on topical skincare to support her barrier health and accelerate her healing.
Within a couple of months Aimee was noticing an improvement in her energy, bowel movements, eczema and mood. She couldn’t quite believe that her eczema, which she had suffered with her whole life, had quite literally disappeared! She was able to go wedding dress shopping without worrying about how her eczema would look.
She was able to exercise again now she felt she had the energy to, and knew the positive impact this was having on her mood too.
Her periods had gone from unbearable pain taking ibuprofen and paracetamol to manage, to manageable using the recommendations I’d shared. The heaviness of her periods had also reduced.
Aimee was able to identify the role of stress and her emotions in her acne which gave her a feeling of control over her skin, and also helped her to feel less shameful about having acne in her 20’s now she understood why it was happening.
I’m pleased to say Amy’s skin was blemish free for her wedding day, Im sure you can agree she looked stunning and oodled confidence in her skin.
What Aimee says…
“When I began working with Chloe, I had one goal- to fix my skin. What happened, was so much more than that. My skin is absolutely looking a lot better, and that's been a real journey with peaks and troughs - though made all the better to have Chloe take the reigns and guide me through it.
However, what vastly became clear was that it was going to be a lifestyle change, a total mindset shift and a personal journey. It gave me the sort of self awareness, and education to begin to make the necessary changes, reduce stress, leave a job I was unhappy in, focus on diet & take a more holistic approach to not only my skin, but my life as a whole. I'll forever be grateful for that
In a world that throws constant 'quick fixes' and magic pills and leaves you feeling confused and in a downward spiral of 'i'll never get better'- to have that guidance and real education was a god send.
My endometriosis and periods are now manageable, my eczema has more or less gone (almost a whole year steroid free now after 29 years on them) and my acne is finally healing, which is something I never thought I'd say.
I would absolutely recommend the support of Chloe!”
